Climate: Coastal areas have the mildest climate and lowest rainfall, although there is little difference throughout the country as a whole. Weather can be changeable at any time, not only from day to day but year to year. Winters can be mild to cold and summers fine to hot. Rainfall is well apportioned throughout the year, but there are usually fewer rainy days in summer. Gales are quite common in autumn and winter.
