Climate: Tropical climate with very warm and humid temperatures all year round. Rainfall varies with altitude and tends to be higher on the S side of the islands, which are exposed to the SE trade winds. The wettest months, characterised by sudden sweeping downpours, are Dec and Jan. High temperatures and humidity can become oppressive especially during the night. Maximum average temperature is 86°F.
